What is YOUR investment philosophy?

Unless you follow the financial markets and have some experience or background as an investor, your investments probably fall into one or more of the following categories:

  • Money in Savings Accounts or Certificates of Deposit that pay 1% to 4% interest.
  • Money in a mutual fund that has earned less than 3% or even lost money in the past few years.
  • Money in a retirement account, controlled by your employer (or former employer). You have no idea how much it earns.
  • Money in a managed brokerage account where the broker makes hundreds of trades that result in little or no profit.

Our Investment Philosophy:

  • Even the most conservative investment strategy should yield at least 5% to 6% per year.
  • Investments must be diversified so that not more than 10% of the total portfolio is in a single investment. Where possible, the goal is to limit each investment to not more than 5% of the total portfolio.
  • The purpose of financial planning is to enable you to accurately determine:
    • Your immediate financial needs.
    • Your long term financial goals.
    • The extent to which you can safely rely upon your investments to provide for your financial needs now and in the future.
